Porkchop’s new Groundhog Day special taking place on February 2nd – meant to console us all if the prediction is six more weeks of winter!

If and only if the Groundhog sees his shadow you can get quite the deal on beers at the West Loop eatery. Legend says that when the Groundhog sees his shadow we are left with six more weeks of winter. So to cheer up their patrons, if this occurs, you can purchase beers all day long for ONLY ONE PENNY – that’s right one cent beers. Porkchop at 941 West Randolph is open 11:30 am – 2am and the restaurant will offer the Groundhog special all day long – if the shadow is seen.

ABOUT THALIA HALL:The historic Thalia Hall property was originally commissioned by John Dusek in 1892 with the hopes of bringing arts and entertainment to the surrounding Bohemian community in Pilsen. Designed by immigrant architects Faber & Pagels to model the Prague State Opera House, the Hall existed as one of the most ornate theaters of its times. This inner opulence, which differentiated it from more traditional theater interiors, helped the building receive granted landmark status in 1985. Sitting vacant and sedentary since the 1960s, Thalia Hall remained virtually untouched until the end of 2013. Under the direction of partners Bruce Finkelman (Beauty Bar, Bite Café, Empty Bottle, Longman & Eagle, The Promontory), Craig Golden (Longman & Eagle, SPACE), and their growing hospitality group 16” on Center, they set out to restore the grand old building to its former glory. Working within the formal constraints imposed by the building’s landmark status, the goal was to reinvent the era from which the building was birthed. Maintaining elements such as the tooled-tin crown molding, original stone arches and door hinges from its ground floor’s time as a carriage house, various features have been updated with time, but the authentic charm is still intact. In 2015, Thalia Hall was named a recipient of the Chicago Association of Realtors Good Neighbor Award and also received the Urban Land Institute Vision Award for Historic Preservation. Named the South Side’s “Top Music Venue” by TimeOut, over a century later, John Dusek’s neighborhood flagship ideal continues to thrive at Thalia Hall through the venue’s restored take on eclectic music, dining and performance offerings. The team behind Saved by the MaxTM, the wildly successful pop up diner inspired by the iconic Saved by the BellTM hangout, plans to give the show’s diehard fan base the chance to explore another part of the Bayside universe this Halloween.  Join the gang as they venture off campus to 1575 N Milwaukee Ave. in the heart of Wicker Park for a very special one night only party.

Chicagoans will soon have the experience to hit up The Attic, the infamous nightclub the underage gang crashed in season three, for one night only on Friday, October 28th. The Attic will prove to be the perfect destination for holiday revelers and show fanatics. Hit the dance floor and hope you don’t get busted by Mrs. Morris, but not Fake ID’s here Preppy!

“The unwavering excitement and positive response we’ve received with Saved by The Max has far surpassed anything we could have ever dreamed,” says Derek Berry one of the partners behind Saved by The Max. “The opportunity to continue giving fans of the show one of a kind experiences is something we really wanted to explore.  There was no better time than Halloween weekend to open up another chapter of the Saved by The Bell story, we really think that people will be just excited as we are to see what The Attic has to offer.”

Diehards of the beloved 90’s favorite will be ecstatic to discover that The Attic is truly worth sneaking out of the house for. The Attic will showcase a brand new Bayside inspired cocktail menu, Bayside Halloween photo booths, individual and group costume contests, the best hits of the 80’s and 90’s, special guests, and maybe even a few surprises; all before curfew. And if you catch Jeff on the dance floor with another girl, please don’t keep it from Kelly.
